Debbie Speaks at Medical Managers Meeting

Thursday, June 26th, 2008

Steve DiBiasi, practice administrator at Wilmington Orthopedic Group , invited Talk PR’s President, Debbie Elliott, to speak at the monthly Medical Group Managers meeting today, regarding the importance of marketing during a slow economy.  Click here to download a PDF copy of Debbie’s presentation.

Debbie explained to several administrators from local medical practices how marketing and advertising during a slow economic period helps businesses gain market share over competitors, win loyal customers and save money by negotiating ad rates. According to our marketing maven, being a well-reputed medical practice just isn’t enough anymore - every business should have a corporate social responsibility program to give back to its community. Doing so would not only make a difference in the world, but also strengthen its customer relations and referral bases, as well.

While most companies tend to tighten their purse strings when the economy declines, Debbie emphasized how aggressive marketing and advertising can give these businesses a leg up on the competition and come out stronger when the economy improves. Go Debbie!

Talk PR FUNraises for Project Pet Project at Paw Jam

Monday, June 16th, 2008

On Saturday we celebrated the official start of Project Pet Project - as the Top Dog sponsor of the 7th annual Paw Jam benefiting animal rescue group throughout our state. In addition to the $1,000 sponsorship, our kissing booth, caricaturist, “Talk to the Paw” hand fans and “Wet your Whistle” bottled water raised another $270 for Carolina Canines for Service. Event organizers are predicting that P.A.W.S. of NC raised a total of more than $10,000 for the day. We’ll post later with an official number, but enjoy our photo album in the meantime:

The Talk PR booth was expertly conceived and designed by our creative team - Natalie and Shawn.

Our “Talk to the Paw” hand fans were a hot commodity on the balmy Saturday.

Camden warms up as Debbie coaxes her to “give her Grandma some sugar!”

Trying so hard not to move! Kirsty gets the first of Cindy Golonka’s caricatures.

Thanks to Delta Mae, and her mom Pat from Carolina Canines. She’s one of the most popular dogs around town and her shift in the kissing booth wore her out!

Biggest surprise of the day: Lindsay’s dog Bevin is reunited with her long lost brother! Both were adopted from the Pender County Humane Society.

Complimentary treat overload!

A nice cool dip in the pool is just what the canine ordered!

Celebrate Take Your Dog to Work Day at Talk PR on June 20

Friday, June 13th, 2008

Have a blast at Paw Jam tomorrow and then get ready for next Friday, June 20. Wake up, grab your morning coffee and your favorite leash. Pack your lunch and throw in some dog treats while you’re at it. Close up your dog’s kennel and fling open the car door on your way to celebrate the 10th annual National Take Your Dog to Work Day.

Participate in the event that more than 10,000 companies are barking about. One in five companies allow pets in the workplace including top companies like Google, Amazon.com, PetSmart and yours truly, Talk PR.

Why not? After all, millions of employees feel that pets in the workplace can:
1. Lead to a more creative environment
2. Decrease absences
3. Improve productivity and team cohesiveness
4. Boost workplace morale

That certainly is the case at Talk PR because of our top dog, Camden.

Ms. Camden Elliot requests your attendance at our Talk Your Dog to Work Day at the Talk PR offices for a fun-filled day to celebrate the value of pets in the workplace.  Say hello and stay for a while to partake in sweet treats and socialize with Camden on June 20 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Camden can’t wait to see you there!

10 Reasons why you can’t miss Paw Jam

Thursday, June 12th, 2008

By now you’ve probably heard about Talk PR’s participation in the 7th annual Paw Jam this Saturday and you’re totally excited about all the fun we’ve got in store. However, if you’re still not convinced that it’s going to be an awesome time, or you’re just now getting in the know, then let us take a moment to break down the top ten reasons for coming out:

1. Kisses galore! If you’ve been lacking some lovin’ in your life, then a few canine kisses are sure to put a smile on your face. Talk PR “top dog” Camden will be eager to give out a smooch or two to anyone who donates a dollar to her favorite cause, Project Pet Project.

2. Pets welcome. We’re sure your house and backyard are nice, but sometimes pets need a change of scenery! Bring them out to socialize, make new friends, eat tasty treats and take home a few souvenirs. They’ll thank you for it later.

3. Food and drink. Lets be honest, who doesn’t enjoy festival food? Funnel cake, cotton candy, and hot dogs are the perfect treats to fill your belly after walking around a park all day. Paw Jam will also have a beer and wine garden for adults!

4. Live entertainment. You might have to miss the Saturday reruns of your favorite trashy reality shows, but don’t worry, the awesome bands and live entertainment at Paw Jam should make up for it. If not, we’re pretty sure the Flavor of Love 2 marathon will be on again next Saturday.

5. Arts & Crafts. If the ashtray on your coffee table is the last arts-and-crafts project you finished, then maybe it’s time to try out your skills again. We promise not to judge you.

6. Caricature artist. We know you love your pet, so why do you have more pictures of your great-aunt Ethel on your walls than of your loyal companion? Talk PR’s booth will feature a caricature artist that will create a mantel-worthy work of art starring your best friend for a donation of $25.

7. Great cause, great fun! The mere thought of homeless pets brings a tear to your eye but you’ve never been sure how to help. Well here’s your chance! The funds raised at Paw Jam will support no-kill, non-profit animal rescue organizations in this part of the state.

8. Pet-related vendors. It’s Christmas in June for our furry friends who will have the chance to shop ‘til they drop at all of Paw Jam’s fun and unique vendors.

9. Free stuff! Unfortunately there won’t be million dollar prizes or free Coach purses and iPods, but everyone could use some free pens, koozies, and other random goodies. Talk PR will be giving away super-cute hot pink fans to cool you down.

10. Sunshine, grass, and fresh air. These are the ingredients for a perfect day after a long work week. Come out to relax and have fun while Monday is still days away and miles from your mind.
