Hi Susan. Many thanks for your comment. Our intent was certainly not to offend, but to call attention to a very serious disease and to raise money for the Pink Ribbon Project. The "buy a chick, save a life" slogan is to emphasize that for $125, the cost of the Pink Chick, you can pay for a mammogram for an uninsured or underinsured woman served by the Pink Ribbon Project. We hope to make this a successful annual fundraiser and welcome all ideas on how to make it better each year.
All the best,
Debbie

I am by no means a 'prude', but I find the name of this campaign disrespecful to all women...not just those who have or who have had breast cancer. I drove by the Forum Shops day after day wondering if the "chicks" really referred to the cutouts of women in pink. "Buy a chick, save a life" ???? It sounds like prostitution with a good cause. I am a breast cancer survivor, but more importantly, I am a 'lady'. I do not really like being called a "chick" , especially when the term is being used in such a casual way...as if it's just another common name, used by the general public, for a woman. Wouldn't "Pink Ladies" have sufficed?
